About Our Chapter
Our Movement
Safe Families for Children, Central PA operates in collaboration with Bethany Christian Services, a global and local nonprofit providing quality social services to children and families. Safe Families for Children is aligned with the goal of keeping families together, a component of the Bethany Christian Services’ mission. The movement of SFFC keeps families together by hosting children and supporting parents through a temporary crisis. It is a preventative, non-coercive alternative to foster care driven by volunteers motivated by Christian hospitality and supported by professionals. SFFC Central PA currently has 14 partner churches, 22 organizational partners and also collaborates with various shelters, hospitals, schools, and mental health facilities.
Our Team
Our team of compassionate and experienced professionals work together with trained volunteers to meet the needs of families struggling through a tough time. The team is passionate about the church coming around these families by connecting them to local resources while also providing a stable, extended support system.
Nicole Condon
Church Engagement CoordinatorAs a Safe Families for Children Outreach Coordinator, Nikki supports a national movement of compassion that gives hope to families in need of temporary care for their children, as they work through critical life circumstances. As a former teacher to at-risk youth, Nikki is familiar with the struggles many of the children in our communities are being faced with. She feels honored to work for an innovative program that protects and enhances the lives of vulnerable children and families, while bringing honor and glory to God.
Chanell A. Harris
Office CoordinatorChanell Harris joined Bethany Christian Services July 2019. She received her college education from West Chester University. She serves as the Office Coordinator for the Harrisburg Branch. Chanell also provides administrative support for the Safe Families for Children Ministry. Chanell’s passionate heart for serving people is one of the many gifts that God blessed her with. Her home church is Victory Outreach Fellowship where she serves in the Children’s Ministry as a pre-school teacher. Chanell lives by verse Matthew 19:26, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Kyra Gonzalez
Intake and Family Coach CoordinatorKyra joined Bethany Christian Services in 2019. She has received her Bachelors in Social Work from Eastern University and her Masters in Social Work from Widener University. Kyra has experience in mental health, counseling, hospital social work and Foster Care/ Adoption serving as a case management supervisor. Through her previous experiences Kyra is passionate about family preservation, and displaying God’s love and hope, which led her to Safe Families for Children.
Becca Glotfelty
Intake and Kinship Program CoordinatorBecca joined Safe Families in December of 2020 of as an Outreach Coordinator for the Dauphin and Cumberland Counties. Becca graduated from Liberty University in Virginia in 2020 with a Bachelor’s in Social Work. Becca was previously an intern with Safe Families for Children and has enjoyed working with and serving families in the Central PA area. Becca brings to our team her beautiful heart, enthusiasm for life and passion for Christ.
